Passengers can enjoy live performances, watch 5D movies, and experience intangible cultural heritage crafts onboard. On the morning of October 30, the innovative cultural and tourism train departed from Tianjinbei Railway Station, marking the official launch of the nation’s first immersive entertainment-themed tourism train.
The “Tianjin Travel Time” cultural and tourism train features 10 themed carriages. Some are designed with a retro style, others focus on interactive performances, while a few resemble a fantastical garden, offering passengers a fully immersive cultural tourism experience throughout the journey.
Industry analysts note that the integration of rail and tourism meets the evolving demands of China’s mass travel market, particularly for senior travelers. Currently, China has 320 million people aged 60 and above, especially those between 60 and 70, whose travel schedules are flexible, making them a key target group for off-peak tourism. The market is anticipating more travel products and ticketing services tailored to senior passengers.
