In recent days, more than 3.3 million mu of poplar forests in Kashgar, Xinjiang, have entered their best viewing period. The golden leaves reflecting in the desert waters have attracted numerous tourists, boosting the local autumn tourism market.
In Makit county alone, 287,000 mu of land of natural poplar trees have turned golden, forming a spectacular landscape across the desert. The local government is promoting an integrated development model combining "poplar + culture + tourism." This year, Xinjiang Railway has launched its first poplar-themed tourist train, offering a nine-day journey through Kashgar, Hotan and Kuqa for travelers to experience the beauty of the golden poplar forests.
